Andrew's professional experience was predominately in Global Healthcare, Pharma, Clinical Trials, Drug Pipelines, Medical Device, Interventional, Vascular, Spinal and Renal, with Quantafive and Qualative strategic reports.
He has launched events for UK Healthcare, Commissioning and following avoidable incidents in secondary care launched Patient First, a Patient safety event for the NHS.
From talking about Healthcare, he then lived it as a patient with T1 Diabetes aged 30 to 20 years later Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), End-stage Renal Failure, dialysis then miracle SPK transplants (Kidney and Pancreas), after three bouts of SEPSIS.
After couple of years, he was able to follow a new found journey to raise awareness of CKD. He is partnering with, the NHIR as a Research Champion andas part of the NIHR ARC NWL Improvement Leader Fellowship, Kidney Research UK Grants Review and Brand Ambassador, Diabetes UK, Aster - AKI Study- Manchester / Leeds, George Institute / Imperial - Co Morbidities. PERFORM – Glasgow and Leicester.
His Improvement Leader Fellowship project aims to bring together a more holistic view with patients taking ownership of their own health, by offering insights from actual lived experience. He aims to help recently diagnosed patients and their families and friends, with support and signposting education. He also aspires to help bring Multi disciplinary teams (MDTs) together and bring phycological support professionals, Dieticians and Occupational Therapists.
